TAIWAN TRIP MARCH 2008!

Day 1
Yes long time ago! I always wanted to blog this, moreover I will be going again coming dec 2009!
Just reach Taiwan after 4 hours flight on Jetstar!
Felt the cold breeze on my face! Very refreshing coz I felt a bit sick after the flight!

A mini bus came to fetch the few of us, I think about 10 of us? The guys went for their work stuff, some brought along their wives, gf, daughter. After an hour(?) we reach XI MEN DING! Walked to our hotel. OMG the air is really shiok!! Walking down Xi Men Ding, pulling our luggages, although its outdoor but it just felt like i am inside a shopping centre, with cars around me.. HAH!! Then we reached Rainbow Hotel! NICE! In the middle of Xi Men Ding.. It gets me excited lor. Opposite the hotel, there is a 2 storey Watsons! OMG!

I think we waited for quite long before going up to our room, and i tell you the lift is so damn small and only 1 lift in the hotel, (erm hotel is quite small actually).. The room is not bad, quite spacious i feel. After unloading the luggages, we meet everybody downstairs and proceed for a walk. I was feeling rather sick lor! No appetite at all. then they stopped for Ah Zong Mian Xian.. No appetite but still ate a little bit, and I really ate a little only. I find it so so...

Then we proceeded to their MRT Station and bought a ''You you card'' = EZ Link Card... Because the rest of the days we will be taking trains... It is really very convenient and its so much lik spore's MRT too. So at least I wasnt too lost. Need change trains at ''cityhall'' etc... cool! And Taiwanese really ''KEEP RIGHT'' on escalators, not like here in Singapore. And they queued up to board the trains! I LIKE IT!!! Here! Everyone cuts queue, not waiting ppl to alight before boarding.. too sickening!

This is Shi Lin Night Market! I LOVE IT TO BITS! This is my favourite night market with lots of clothings and accessories shop and food of course! Its my 2nd time to Shi Lin. 1st time was n 2007 July or August when the weather is so bloody HOT!

This is the famous Chicken Cutlet stall - anyway I dun find it exceptionally nice.. so so only... dunno why the looong queue... I ate this in 2007...
ok, as we had only a small bowl of mian xian, we decided to eat at Shi lin.. so many food! And after walking and looking ard, I feel much better!

Jumbo sausages

Their ''Orh Lua''/Oyster egg... a little different from here, coz they have sauce on top of the oyster egg and the sauce is sweet.. I find it quite nice!!

argh I cannot remember what is this or whats the name :P

This... I cant recall the name either... inside is some crunchy crispy fried minced meat or something.. I think i dun quite like.

We shopped ard and then took a train back to hotel to rest as a long day is waiting for me the next day!! Picture taken on the platform waiting for train.

Picture taken in their train. They have BIG SIGNS of reserved seats on their trains like what we have in spore now. and they really NEVER SIT on the reserved seats. all reserved seats are empty. even on days when i took the train alone, and its crowded, reserved seats are not occupied at all...

I cannot remember what time we reach Xi Men station.. But the shops are all closed and the roads are open to cars. They actually opened the roads of Xi Men Ding at a certain time daily for cars to go in, the roads in XI Men Ding are closed form morning till evening coz the human traffic is terrible..

We stopped by 7-11 (very near the hotel) to get some snacks...
Green tea soya milk.. not that fantastic though..

Day 2

I remembered I sleep till very late like 11am plus or 12pm! :X
I was alone... The wife, gf, daughter had gone out for shopping I think... I sleep until so shiok lor! I think Mrs Jiang (taiwanese tai tai! *envy*) called me and wanted to meet me and bring me around. so i prepared and got ready. and i think she came to meet me at xi men ding.

I forgot where we went, I think we went quite a few places and A LOT OF WALKING...
She brought me to this cafe for lunch.. Very nice the food!

NICE COFFEE too!

I remembered I was wearing a rather thick espirit jacket and all the walking makes me sweat! :P

I think we went Zong Xiao Dong Rd... I quite like the place too!
Mrs Jiang treated me to their Fen Yuan, something like our bubble tea pearls, QQ feeling! I told her I was so super full after the lunch but she insist I have this, Its really a BIG BOWL! I only ate 1/4 of it! :(
I remember seeing this at Shi Lin Night Market too. I hope I can find it in Dec, coz I dun think I will know how to go bk to this shop!

Walked past this shopping centre... Mrs Jiang mentioned this is very famous.. so i took a pic of the clock. I think its a kuku clock where by the bird will come out and chirp every 15 mins. and there is sth special abt this clock.. I cant rmb what! OMG my memory is failing me!

Below are my buys on my 1st day of shopping!
A LOT OF MASKS, DHC! and the box of pancakes from Mrs Jiang.. Oh ya the pancake is nice!! The shop's name is Tong Xin Yuan... Went bk hotel put these stuff and go out for dinner.. see eat again!!!!

Mrs Jiang's husband (Jason) came to pick me frm hotel and I had dinner with him and a Indonesian couple-Roy and his wife.... This restaurant is good too! But I was sooooo FULL really seriously... and feel so uncomfortable!
Escargots very nice! but I dunno why there is no pics..
This seafood soup also nice & fresh!

I had STEAK. NICE but can you imagine how full am I! I cut half and gave it to Roy :P

DESSERT!! NICE Tiramisu.. seriously very nice!

I can't remember what drink.. I think mango?

I think after dinner we went for a walk... To another night market I think...
A lot of CJ7 but the face are like fake ones...

Day 3

Slept very late again... very shiok! and tired! and I wore something thinner as the day before was so hot with my jacket on! I stepped out of my hotel OMG the wind is COLD DE LOR!!! I bear with it thinking it will be alright... WA I really cannot tahan lor!
Mrs Jiang came and she brought me to a restaurant near her place for Shabu Shabu...
The food nice and fresh! And she got her son to bring a jacket for me :P

After eating she brought me to Wu Fen Pu.. Omg there is like.. Chatuchak... The bikes riding on the walkway with us... -_- their engine smoke smell makes me real sick... seriously.. YUCKS... I thought i will faint there. Mrs Jiang noticed my face very pale, she brought me out from there, stop by a cafe for coffee... Then we went back again, after going back I felt sick again! HAH!! LOUSY! Coz i think too many ppl, too stuffy plus the bikes there.. irritating! we shopped till quite late then Jason came to fetch us and we went dinner near their house. TEPPANYAKI! VERY NICE OMG!!! The beef! YUMMY!

Day 4

I woke up and Thomas came over my room and ask if I wanna go out walk walk. so i went out with him - shopping at Xi Men Ding only... Then we stopped by a small eatery and had lunch or breakfast.. I keep skipping the hotel breakfast coz i wanna slp!

I accompanied him search for some clothes for his daughter - giving him suggestions

Then I happened to see THE TOILET RESTAURANT OMG!!! I know that I wun have the chance to go in lor! I MUST GO THERE IN DEC! And try to steal the toilet bowls bk!

Wewalked to a desserted place.. wa the flowers so pretty!!

I forgotten what happened already and Mrs Jiang came to look for me and we went for coffee at starbucks... near my hotel as well!

I had a green tea drink..

And we walked ard the malls near Xi Men Ding...
These are my buys that day...

Mrs Jiang and I rested at my room and we went to meet the rest for dinner at a chinese restaurant and its very grand and popular i think... we had a room to ourselves, 3 tables...
